The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California, United States. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). They play their home games at the HP Pavilion at San Jose (also known as The Shark Tank). The Oakland Coliseum Arena was home to the California Golden Seals of the NHL from 1967 to 1976. Gordon and George Gund became minority owners of the Seals in 1974, and were instrumental in their move to Cleveland in 1976 and a 1978 merger with the Minnesota North Stars, which they purchased that year. They had long wanted to bring hockey back to the Bay Area, and asked the NHL for permission to move the North Stars there in the late 1980s, but the league vetoed the proposed move.

By: Dudes on Hockey

9Feb2012

A great moment last night with Owen Nolan at center ice, the entire crowd standing, cheering, not wanting the cheers to end.  I’m sure Nolan felt the same.  Both the Sharks and Flames giving it up for the veteran of both teams, the #1 overall...

Tweaking lines, trying to keep Kiprusoff from 300th win, Pavelski’s 400th game and Nolan puck drop

By: Working the Corners

8Feb2012

May have mentioned this before, but going forward, optional game-day morning skates are going to be the rule rather than the exception. Which does cut into projected lines and defense pairings. Not saying that’s the reason Todd McLellan is moving i...
