Rob Gronkowski (born May 14, 1989) is an American football tight end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Arizona. Gronkowski, often referred to as "Gronk," owns a number of scoring-related records, including the record for most receiving touchdowns in a single season by a tight end, with 15. Gronkowski was born in Amherst, New York to parents Gordon Gronkowski and Diane Gronkowski. His father started for three years as an offensive guard at Syracuse. His great-grandfather, Ignatius, was a member of the 1924 U.S. Olympic cycling team in Paris. Gronkowski is the second-youngest of five brothers.
