Fredrick Alfred "Rick" Porcello III (born December 27, 1988) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. He was drafted #27 overall in the first round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Porcello has been described as an "ace" who could be a "bona fide No. 1 starter." In 2009, he was the youngest player in the major leagues. Porcello had been projected by Sports Illustrated to be among the first few picks in the 2007 draft.
