Mark Streit (born December 11, 1977) is a Swiss professional ice hockey defenceman and an alternate captain of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL), also captaining the Swiss national team. He is presently one of only two players in the NHL from Switzerland (the other is goaltender Jonas Hiller, with Yannick Weber and Andres Ambühl currently playing in the American Hockey League and Luca Sbisa playing in the Western Hockey League).
