The Return

By: C70 At The Bat

23May2012

Right now on this Cardinal team, there's no player I enjoy watching more than Adam Wainwright.  It was so disappointing to have him miss last year with Tommy John surgery and, though we've seen some flashes, we've not really...

Redbirds Week in Review—5/14/12 to 5/20/12

By: Redbird Rants

21May2012

It was a terrible week for the Good Guys.  Yep, our beloved Redbirds really stank up the joint. The starting pitching has been faltering, as has the bullpen.  The much vaunted defense at times looked like the Keystone Cops.  The offense has...

St. Louis Cardinals Start to Resemble a M.A.S.H. Unit

By: Redbird Rants

20May2012

The injuries for the St. Louis Cardinals are starting to pile up at an alarming rate. The recent road trip has been brutal for those involved and painful for Cardinal Nation to witness. The amount of injuries is starting to take its toll as th...

They Left Their Mojo In San Francisco

By: C70 At The Bat

18May2012

Technically, they didn't leave anything in San Francisco, or at least not that we know of yet.  They were still in the city yesterday when they had that kind of flop.  I just wanted to see if Matt Sebek was...

History Repeats?

By: C70 At The Bat

15May2012

On Monday, May 3, 2010, the Cardinals beat the Phillies and finished the day five games up on their nearest competitors in the NL Central.  Jamie Garcia won that game and stood at 3-1 with a 1.13 ERA.  Chris...

Rants Daily: Beltran misses cycle, Cardinals fall to Braves in extras 9-7

By: Redbird Rants

12May2012

Carlos Beltran‘s one man show continued to amaze last night as he flirted with the cycle, but settled with two home runs, a triple and double. Unbelievably it was not enough to get the St. Louis Cardinals a victory as they fell to the Atlanta B...

Wasted Opportunities

By: C70 At The Bat

12May2012

The Cardinals honored Tony La Russa last night, then went out and played a game that, save for the final result, was a game that was pretty much worthy of him.St. Louis fell behind 5-1 after three innings, but kept...

By: Call to the Pen

27Apr2012

On a Saturday morning in late January it was reported that the St. Louis Cardinals had reached an agreement with veteran free agent starting pitcher Roy Oswalt.  These initial reports were quickly shot down, and three months later Oswalt remains on...

No Sweep Yet Again, Thankfully

By: C70 At The Bat

26Apr2012

The Cards are having a good start to the season, I don't think anyone would deny that.  However, the fastest way to start thinking real negative thoughts about this team would be if they were swept by the Chicago...

Rants Daily: Lohse and Furcal lead Cardinals past Pirates 5-1

By: Redbird Rants

23Apr2012

One day after getting shutdown by A.J. Burnett and the Pittsburgh Pirates, the St. Louis Cardinals returned to their winning ways behind another magnificent performance from Kyle Lohse and three more hits from Rafael Furcal. … [visit site to re...

Jaime Being Jaime

By: C70 At The Bat

12Apr2012

I've often said the biggest problem with Jaime Garcia is just getting consistent work from him.  There are times when he looks like the Next Big Thing, rolling through batters and getting deep into games.  Unfortunately, just as often he p...

5-2 Roadtrip Not Good Enough For Some Fans

By: Pitchers Hit Eighth

11Apr2012

Sure, I imagine most Cardinal fans want the team to win just about every game they watch.  Heck, they may want them to win every single game they watch.  If you expect either to happen, then you are indeed a fool, and a fool and the team’s ba...
