Daniel Hiram Gibson (born February 27, 1986, in Houston, Texas) is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. His nickname, "Boobie," was affectionately given to him by his mother. Gibson averaged 25.54 points per game and 9.3 assists per game while leading Jones High School in Houston, Texas to a 31-4 record and the Texas Class 4A state title as a senior. It marked the school's first state championship since 1965. Gibson graduated sixth out of 212 students in his high school class, and was a member of the National Honor Society. Gibson starred as a guard in college basketball for the University of Texas at Austin.
