The Knicks are not in the Heat’s class right now. It’s an unavoidable fact that no one can deny after watching Miami easily dispatch the Knicks in five games.

Tonight, the Heat are out for the kill and will come out flying. To withstand all of that, the Knicks need to play a near perfect game. They need to do all these things to beat the Heat tonight.

The Knicks tried hard on Thursday night against the Miami Heat. That was just about the only good news. The offense was putrid, disgusting, vomit-inducing; or any other negative adjective you can think of.

An adjustment will have to come from Amar'e Stoudemire, and it won’t be an easy one. He has never been a great isolation player, and the Knicks don’t have a point guard to help set him up on pick-and-roll plays.

The Knicks can’t win the way they did last night. They need to do it with defense, rebounding and an incorporated Amar’e Stoudemire. Otherwise, this little playoff surge will end in nothing more than a first-round fizzle.
